in reply to: Phish
Billy Strings joined Phish tonight, 8/6/24 in Grand Rapids. I’ll come back and share the recording as soon as I am able to dig it up. In the meantime, enjoy this set recap from FZappa20. Guy watches every Phish show and gives the full postgame rundown on a whiteboard.
EDIT okay some audience clips for now

in reply to: Hurricane Debby PartyI remember the 1000 year flood! That was a wild time to be living downtown. Seemed like the city was flooded for a whole month, with all the storms we were having.
Debby has brought a lot of rain so far, but nothing too crazy it seems. They say it’s going out in the ocean where it will pick up more water to dump on us. Doesn’t look like it will be leaving the area anytime soon.
I’m stocked up with snacks and marijuana. Spinning Steely Dan on vinyl in my living room. Life ain’t bad.

in reply to: Extra Chill Fest 2024There is nowhere I’d rather be after Hurricane Debby than the Charleston Pour House for Extra Chill Fest 2024. Live music after a storm is the best!

Slow Funeral rips. Mary Norris is a great songwriter who is coming into her own as an artist. This is one of the sets that I am personally most excited about.
A Guide to Hip Hop at Extra Chill Fest 2024
@indigxld breaks down what we can expect from the hip-hop lineup at this year’s Extra Chill Fest! South Carolina hip-hop, hand curated and guaranteed to be dope. He breaks down JTrawww, UnHeard Entertainment, and the GranDaddi Caddi Experience.Hellacious Sauce
Featuring Gavin Hamilton and @indigxld. This set is a soulful concoction that is another one of my personal most anticipated sets. Gavin and Indi are both excellent singers, and they have been practicing a unique collection of songs for their debut at Extra Chill Fest.
Dear Blanca
Columbia, SC band Dear Blanca will celebrate the 10th anniversary of their album Pobrecito to headline Extra Chill Fest 2024. They’re bringing along a cast of Columbia’s finest including members of Stagbriar. Not to mention, Charleston’s very own musical hero, Brett Nash.
Maxwell’s Silver Jammer
The Beatles Jam band by Andy Greenberg will close out the festival with a late night set on the main stage. Going to be sick!

For now, here are the three singles released thus far. Really great alt-country vibes

in reply to: Hurricane Debby PartyLate night, the rain is ripping right now. It got pretty intense out here in West Ashley for a little while. The power flashed a couple of hours ago but as of now we’re back up and running.

On August 24th, Oscillate will be moving the After Hours series onto the 2nd floor of The Peacock on East Bay for their 11th show. We welcome ANHAIA, a project created by Brazilian DJ/producer “Jesiel Anhaia Junior”. His sound walks the line between tech house and minimal deep tech, full of soulful grooves which will keep the dance floor moving from start to finish! Within his sets, he draws inspiration from Marco Carola, Waff, Paco Osuna, Tomi & Kesh to name a few. As for Kirk aka Wait for Me, the man is a groove of his own which is clear in his productions. This will be Kirk’s second After Hours and we can’t wait to hear what he has in store. This will be an absolute treat of a back to back and we are very excited for this event. Come dance with us and let these two take us on a journey. $10 tickets can be purchased through this link (https://posh.vip/e/after-hours-19) and we will see you on the dance floor!! Follow us @oscillate_entertainment on Instagram to hear more about future events in the city! Cheers!...

in forum: The Back BarA few months ago I completed my first collection of poems. I’ve always been a creative writer, but in recent years I got more involved with journalism and growing the Extra Chill brand. However, on the side, I have continued to write poems. A few months ago I completed my first collection of poems. I’ve always been a creative writer, but in recent years I got more involved with journalism and growing the Extra Chill brand. However, on the side, I have continued to write poems. Last fall I got encountered some things in my head and started to write a lot more poetry. I kept on with poems about the same subject until the thoughts had run their course, and the result was a cohesive collection of poems, titled Evil At My Heels.
I shared the collection with a few of my friends, but wasn’t sure what else to do with them. Rather than letting them sit on my hard drive, I decided to add them to my personal portfolio site, alongside some nifty custom code that makes it easy to read them one at a time without having to scroll down a long page, or jump around different pages.
The poems are all about getting older and its impact on life. Making the transition from adolescence to adulthood, and dealing with the things that have haunted you for years already.
I think they came out pretty good. I would love feedback of any kind. Hope you enjoy, and thank you for checking them out!
