in reply to: Wit’s End comedy club, coming this spring.
Wit’s End is dope! It’s on Rivers ave, right across the street from the Starlight Motor Inn. They officially opened on June 1st. I had the chance to stop by and interview the owner, Josh Bates, and published it on Extra Chill.
Rip City also recently performed a sold out weekend there.
If you haven’t been, I highly recommend stopping by to check the place out.
Here’s my article about Wit’s End: https://extrachill.com/wits-end-the-new-home-for-comedy-in-charleston
And here’s an article in the Post and Courier by my friend Chelsea: https://www.postandcourier.com/charleston_scene/wits-end-comedy-club-and-lounge-north-charleston/article_c43b0256-33dd-11ef-aa41-3f1333cfe6a3.html
Finally, here is the Wit’s End website: https://www.witsendcharleston.com/
Hey Coker, thanks for sharing! Interesting song – the changes are cool.
I would love to know more about this rock opera. Can you tell me more about the concept? Do the songs tell a story when pieced together?
Also, what is the cover art? Is that part of your rock opera?

in reply to: Phish – MondegreenI recently went down the rabbit hole of Phish Festivals and explored every single festival that the band has done to date in an article on Extra Chill. This article tells the story of Phish through the lens of their festivals and gathers music, memories, and links to firsthand accounts from each. I wrote it in anticipation of Mondegreen which I’ve been making plans to attend, hopefully with a media pass.
I think Phish fans would like it, from those like myself who will make their Phish festival debut at Mondegreen, to those who have been to every Phish festival. Even non Phish fans might find something to enjoy in there — even if it’s just morbid curiosity.

in reply to: Erode The Dream – Charleston, SC (Rock/Grunge/Heavy)Hell yeah! Thanks for sharing. I wish I could have made it to that show.
For those who don’t know, Erode the Dream has been recording with Eric Rickert at Big Animal Studios on Johns Island. I stopped by the studio one day to hang out and ended up playing the jingle bells on the album.
They are also working on some music videos for their new music.
Their next show is coming up on August 24th at Tin Roof.
in reply to: Mister Morning – Lexington, SC (Lofi / Indie Pop)Do it! I believe it will be worth your while.
“Make hay while the sun is up”
“Strike while the iron is hot”
Both of those sayings apply here. I would imagine that some people who find it on Soundcloud are looking for more.
You can link the YouTube video from the description on Soundcloud, and link to the Soundcloud from the description on YouTube. It will strengthen the connection and increase overall visibility.
in reply to: Mister Morning – Lexington, SC (Lofi / Indie Pop)Dude hell yeah! Congratulations. You should do a music video for it and push it even harder

Love Wilco. I always check out everything they do. Seen them twice now but really need to pump those numbers up
Upon first playthrough, I am enjoying this record so far. I will save my thoughts for a possible post in the music reviews section after I listen a few more times.

in reply to: Tame Impala selling all his music to SonyYou know, I’ve thought about this for a while since you posted it and came close to responding a few times.
I think it was definitely a lot of money. A LOT of money, for sure. He’s one of the most successful artists of the past decade.
It could be for any number of reasons. One thing is for certain, he will never have to work another day in his life. I do think he will continue to release music.
It’s tough for anyone to say what they would do in his position. He did create the music, and selling the rights to it doesn’t take that away from him. It probably helps a lot with managing it. Also will result in Tame Impala’s music being used in more movies and stuff down the line.
What do you think about it?
