Music Midtown, Live Nation owned, is taking a hiatus in 2024. This is one that I definitely didn’t expect to see bite the dust. But, Live Nation consolidates and eliminates their own competition in the market.
My distaste for this company is so strong. Even though Music Midtown was never really my cup of tea to begin with…

My go-to is usually Euro ’72 but I can’t deny how much better it sounds with Brent backing. Or Jer’s sexy guitar tone in that second clip
Yeah the vocals on Europe ’72 version are great, it’s definitely the one that is seen as the “definitive” version. Fun fact it was never released on a studio album but the Dead played it over 300 times and it’s one of the most well-known Deadhead songs.
Also, obligatory, Happy 5/8/77 day

God at a Festival took like 2 listens to grow on me.
Funny, my favorite of this new batch has been “Kama Sumatra” which is the one that their fanbase pushed back against. I like Kevin’s verse when they slow things down and Frasco’s little spoken word section. Not the biggest fan of the beat but the song is interesting… lol

in forum: CharlestonI was privileged to get this gig photographing the 3D digital art contest at Beeple Studios this last Saturday.
It was an ‘experience’ to say the least. Artists from all over converged for a multi-tier elimination contest – where individuals were pitted against each other under a time constraint, to create a piece of artwork that was then judged by a group of their peers, from all over the world, via a social media/voting system. If you’re not familiar, the studio space is an enormous experience in and of itself, for which the walls, the columns, the very space itself is alive with video animation, music – DJ’s, announcers, food and bev, and some of the craziest artwork swirling around you 20 feet tall, throughout!
Exhibit rooms of Beeple’s own artwork, OG computer systems… hyper realistic celebrity masked actors. This is a ONE OF A KIND experience.
I’ve been to theme parks, the state fair, festivals, concerts of every kind… and this is NEW.
Not sure how many times I used the word ‘experience’ just now, but you can’t overdo it in tying to explain this. It was amazing!
Nothing else like it that I’ve ever seen.

in reply to: The Jerry ThreadI just finished writing about “Ramble on Rose” and I’m going through recordings of it now.
This is one of the most famous Grateful Dead recordings out there, and it’s clear to see why. I remember I sent you this one when I first got into the Dead @marleyfacedboy. – 7/7/89 RFK Stadium in Philly
6/26/94 Las Vegas – Jerry’s vocals are so weirdly off during this but it also kinda slaps. Jerry in short shorts and high off his ass!

is the song of the summer.. period..end of story.in reply to: Musicians Who Sold Their SoulI’m adding Drake to this list of musicians who sold their soul, but I don’t know if you can really count Drake as a musician.
in reply to: Kendrick Lamar ‘Diss’Drake is weak. Kendrick Lamar has this in the bag. How do you come back from being called a pedo and a colonizer by Kendrick Lamar, with such velocity and directness? And when you respond with some weak stuff like this, all it does it make Kendrick’s argument stronger.
No wonder Kendrick has kept quiet and not dropped another yet. Drake writhing in pain over there. Especially because Drake has had plenty of rumors circling about him that many choose to ignore because they like his music and...

No wonder Kendrick has kept quiet and not dropped another yet. Drake writhing in pain over there. Especially because Drake has had plenty of rumors circling about him that many choose to ignore because they like his music and it’s hard to believe that an “artist” you like could be a bad person.
People are saying that “The Heart Part 6” is the first one to drop where Drake didn’t use his ghostwriters. I’d have to agree with that one.
Kendrick Lamar the GOAT. Drake is a bitch!
in reply to: Happy LandingIt was awesome. I absolutely love that band. They’re my favorites right now. They’re so unique and they have great energy on stage. They never dissapoint and they always swing through Charleston
in reply to: New Music 2024Eggy – “A Moment’s Notice”
Released May 3rd. Interesting vibe from a heady jam band, who delve into more of an indie-synth-soul song with this one.
Regardless I think Eggy is one of the best Jam bands out there right now.
