Everybody knows jam bands for their live albums, but non jambands release great live albums too. I have always been a fan of live albums in general.
Here are a few off the top of my head that I really enjoy. There are always more that I discover and I will come back here and update this periodically.
What are your favorite live albums? Do you dig any of these?
Modest Mouse – Baron Von Bullshit Rides Again (2004)
Nirvana – MTV Unpluggged in New York (1994)
Who doesn’t like this one, let’s be real
Foo Fighters – Skin and Bones (2006)
There really are a lot more I can name here… here’s a couple newer ones.
MJ Lenderman – And The Wind (Live and Loose!) (2023)
Futurebirds – Thanks, Y’all (2023)
Giving this one a spin right now and it sounds so tight:
Susto, Live from Codfish Hollow
