The Alley Charleston will close its doors on June 1st, 2024. I’ve had some great memories there over the years, and I’m sad to see it go. A longtime staple of downtown Charleston.

From the Instagram post announcing it:

“It is with a heavy heart that today we announce The Alley’s last day of operations will be June 1st. With the property owners’ upcoming and imminent hotel development, the time has unfortunately come to close our doors permanently.

Serving this amazing Charleston community for over 12 years has truly been a privilege. Words can’t express how grateful we are for our incredibly supportive customers. We sincerely thank our exceptional and dedicated ‘Alley Family,’ past and present. They made this unique, 17,000 square foot entertainment venue a place welcome to all. Our staff’s sincere care and commitment is unmatched and is the fabric of what made this business special.

Our hope is that we left you with many positive memories from your time within our space, and that The Alley has been a force for good. We have always strived to do what is right by our loyal customer base, outstanding team, and the greater Charleston community. We cherish the good times, from the countless events we hosted: ranging from our large-scale annual productions to corporate events, weddings, birthday parties and so many other functions. More importantly, giving back has always been at the core of our mission. We hope our efforts to help and host so many local non-profit organizations will always be a part of our legacy.

In our final weeks, we will work to ensure our people are taken care of to the absolute best of our ability and to serve many familiar faces. It has been a remarkable journey. Despite the sadness we feel during this final chapter, we hope that we have created positive memories that will last a lifetime. We will never forget the incredible experiences you’ve shared with us, and we look forward to seeing you one last time.

Thank you, Charleston, for this extraordinary ride.
    Sincerely,
    David Crowley (Owner/Operator)”
