in reply to: Carolina Underground Vinyl

    Dude congrats on the vinyl!

Here is the direct link to the Eyeland Vibes listing of the album for anybody interested: https://eyelandvibes.com/products/carolina-underground-lp

Ben is a super solid dude, who I also had the pleasure of calling my roommate during my last few months in Charleston. This project is very cool and highly recommended for fans of the Charleston music scene.

Thanks for sharing it here man!

    Also, here is Ben’s instagram

Personally, I think the community would not be so interested in AI generated art during SXSW. While my personal opinion is that AI art is cool, many artists do not agree with that statement, and it sort of goes against the core ethos of SXSW. Which is all about the DIY culture, in terms of the music element.

I think you would have better luck collaborating with some local artists and allowing them to use your space to showcase their talents. That community spirit is what attracts so many people to SXSW. Perhaps there is a local projection artist, who has musician friends that would be interested in this?

Either way, appreciate you seeking out the Extra Chill Community as a place to gather feedback for this project! We are a small but growing space for DIY music and artists.

    Cheers!

I am posting here to remind myself that I still need to update the header to match the main blog.

This has been done already on the footer.

I also have this idea to send automatic email notifications once weekly to all users, if they have unread notifications.

Soon, I will also create an app that allows people to post on here.

Also need to update the posting guidelines to be more clear…

Running a forum is actually a ton of work. But it’s pretty cool and rewarding too.

Love to see the community growing.

Thanks to everybody who signed up here and keeps coming back to post!

    Cheers

in reply to: Possible Brand New Reunion

I am also a huge Brand New fan. I was at one of their last shows, in Charleston on 10/25/17. It was a major bummer to hear about these allegations, especially considering I have the astronaut from Deja Entendu tatted on my back. The band has gotten me through some of the hardest times in my life.

That being said, I do believe there is a lot more to come from Brand New this year. The way they are going about this secretive reunion is totally on brand for them, and I’m expecting to be surprised with new music.

Couple other things I heard about this solo show:

    1. The rest of the band was at the Jesse solo show.
    2. People were specifically asked not to record any of the new songs.

Here are some videos from that night:

    Degausser

    Play Crack the Sky

    Jesus Christ

As a bonus, which has nothing to do with this reunion rumor. Their set at ACL in 2015 is an absolute classic.

Excited to hear more about this in the coming months.

    in reply to: Bonnaroo 2025

The tickets to Bonnaroo are ridiculously expensive, and they keep getting more expensive every year.

Having attended the festival 3 times, I can say that they are banking on their reputation. It truly is one of the happiest, most free places on earth for the five day duration.

The prices will continue to rise every year until they stop selling.

That being said, if you can swing it, I do highly recommend going to Bonnaroo at least once.

I’m planning to be there this year, hopefully with a media pass.

I am working on an update to this site that will make it much more streamlined with the main Extra Chill blog.

The header (top bar) is going to become a near-visual match for the blog. The footer will do the same.

This should hopefully make the entire site feel more cohesive.

As it stands the main blog is looking much more polished than the forum.

That is going to change very soon. Just have to focus on the front page first because that’s the moneymaker.

Not sure if anybody is reading these posts but either way you’ll see these changes get pushed soon!
