Happy Belated Halloween. Meet Witch, a Zamrock band that’s kind of jazzy, kind of blues-y, kind of jammy, kind of disco-y, kind of folky and super funky. Witch was popular in the 1970’s after Zambia gained independence from the UK. I don’t remember how I came upon this album but it’s one of those albums you keep wanting to go back to. It’s so many things all at once but somehow fits together just fine. “Witch: We Intend to Cause Havoc!”, linked below

Tyler, The Creator. One of the genius minds of our generation, has released another masterpiece with “Chromakopia”. Outside of a ridiculous line up of features including Lil Wayne, Childish Gambino, Schoolboy Q, and more -the post production of this album is ridiculous and gives a deeper look into the formulation of Tyler through pre-teens and how that has molded his vision as a mogul. This is like the odyssey of Tyler in parallel to life from growing up, to Odd Future, to becoming...

Freddie Gibbs, known for his lyricism, and cold criminal-esque aura, has underwent a lot of scrutiny over the last few years. Baby momma drama, rap beefs, etc – have sort of dissolved some of the mystique surrounding ‘his gangsta’. However, lyrically, Gibbs remains one of the coldest with his new post-hiatus album “You Only Die 1nce”. Check it out!

Really beautiful tribute to Phil Lesh by Phish tonight in Albany. Opening the show with “Box of Rain”, a song that Phil Lesh wrote with Robert Hunter for the Grateful Dead. The song is about his Dad who was dying of cancer at the time.

RIP Phil. So much love to everyone out there reading this who loves this music too

@carls This is super dope.  I like the bass line.  🙂

@partyboygeezy replied for you dawg 👐🏼

Yoo! J here. Thought I’d share some insight on this, as it’s pretty interesting and worth demystifying.

I’ve been to a few industry parties—mostly private A&R events. Most A&Rs are younger, often women, while men tend to move up faster and sometimes go into consulting, negotiating deals independently. If you know someone at a label like Columbia and have an artist with potential, you can get them signed and take a percentage of the advance—kind of like a realtor closing a deal.

    A&Rs to...

    Greetings EC Community,

New whathaveyou from CARLS is available now – Hot Night on Bergen Street.  It’s an homage to a couple of weirdo frolickers having a good time in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn (my old stomping grounds).  Musically it’s kind of an amped up T.Rex vibe.

We’ll be playing that and a bunch of other radness this Saturday, 10/19 at LoFi at 9PM.

Also, there’s going to be a climactic balloon drop.  Who doesn’t love a climactic balloon drop?

Come out and get whimsical with us!

Covers of the classic Never Meant by American Football just dropped. I haven’t listened to this yet but it’s probably good.

There’s also new Peach Pit – “Every Little Thing” & more

New Human Resources – “Liminal Space”

New Jesse Schafer – “Modern Love Letters”

Not that anybody really cares about new music around here it seems

87 Nights Royal American post Covid return October 2021. This show was absolutely nuts. This was 87s return to Royal post Covid after that big gap of not playing shows and it was right before the first boogie man fest, so it kinda served as a precursor to that epic night. It was nuts at that show and the line extended down Morrison drive. Also someone ripped a damn sink off of the men’s bathroom wall. Core memory for sure

    Daddy’s Beemer corny ahh hell
