in reply to: Whose going to Ween at Firefly? What I love about Ween is that every song is so different. I’ve seen them live before and it’s just so unique. Being from Philadelphia – I’m partial to this song
in reply to: Robert Vandal – Charleston, SC (Producer)I’m really liking this a lot. Second time listening to it now. Can’t wait to see it live sometime. Need to hear this loud AF. I clicked the “follow” button so I’ll see when you post.

in reply to: A.I. in MusicI think the advancement of AI is coming whether we like it or not. But ultimately I think public opinion is going to drive this more than anything else. If the AI music sells, there’s going to be more of it. If people choose to consume music made by people only, then there’s going to be less of it.

Personally, I think AI is an amazingly useful tool and this forum wouldn’t be nearly as advanced without my having access to AI while making it. But when it comes to art, I’d prefer it to be made by real humans expressing themselves.
If they use AI tools to help them do that, and it sounds good, then I’m not totally against it. But if it becomes a substitute for actual artistic expression, and we start to lose the human element that makes music so great, then I’m way against it.
I still have faith enough in humanity to think that people will still choose real music and musicians over AI-generated music, as the tech advances to make it even more possible. But for a while it’s possible that we get really heavy into the AI, everywhere in our lives, as it continues to evolve rapidly.

I think it was really a ticket sales thing. Live Nation are such vampires. They will suck all the life out of any good thing and simply discard it without care for the community that was centered around it.

in forum: Music DiscussionThought this was an interesting read on the new A.I. policy for the Grammys. Wondering what everyone thinks about this, and how A.I. will be integrated into the music industry. We know it’s not going anywhere, so I guess adapting is the only choice we have.

in forum: The Back BarEVENTUALLY (I hope), I’ll pass along my records to my nephews (as my dad and uncle have passed along to me). Anyhow, I would like to surprise them as they’re browsing the collection (when I’m not around) with a personalize copy of the original Susto album (mentioning their names – something simple like “To”). Given the opportunity, I will take the awkward step myself, but it’s nice to be introduced. Cheers.
in forum: Extra Chill TeamHey guys! This is now the place to submit your picks for the week!
