Whitehall Announce New Album Swordfish Catcher, Share Single “Capsize”

On Friday, Whitehall announced their sophomore album, Swordfish Catcher, the follow-up to their 2018 full-length debut, Ocean Fiction. With this announcement came the release of a single from the album called “Capsize”, plus a music video crafted by Preston Dunavant. Swordfish Catcher drops April 2nd via Common Ground Collective.
Rather than the bright, sunny Whitehall that we’re used to, “Capsize” presents us with a mellow, subdued side of the band; quite the opposite of their previous single “Good Guy”, released in October. Here Paddy sounds fed up as he sings self-deprecating lyrics about unhealthy patterns that he initiated in a relationship, and recognized, but didn’t bother to change. He isn’t afraid to put the blame on himself here, which shows a step toward the kind of emotionally honest songwriting that we’ll always advocate for here at Extra Chill. Now let’s all take a step toward treating people better!
