<p style=”text-align: left;”>”Shakedown Street”</p>
We are huge fans of Grateful Dead here at Extra Chill .. Shakedown Street is one of the most iconic songs by The Dead, and anyone who’s ever been to a Jam Band shown knows that Shakedown Street is the name for the section of the lot where travelling fans buy and sell food, booze, stickers, weed, etc ..But when my brother and I started traveling for Phish concerts, there was no StubHub.. So we would go to shows in other city’s on blind faith hoping we’d score tickets.. Some shows were easier than others. One of the understood “signals” of needing or looking for tickets was holding your hand up with one finger in the air .. signaling that you “needed one ticket”.. At some point “heads” started holding up UNO cards instead of a finger, signaling that they “needed one ticket” .. So, if you ever see an UNO Card on “SHAKEDOWN STREET”, you now know what it means.
Would you ever sub in an MLB foam finger for more visibility/the lols?
In theory it looks cool .. but a true “jaded vet” would understand that convenience of a card that fits in their wallet is way better than a giant foam pleasure tool..jk ..
