The Muppets Meet Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s “Shimmy Shimmy Ya” (Video)

In 2015, Youtuber isthishowyougoviral, also known as Mylo The Cat created a video clip featuring Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s 1994 classic “Shimmy Shimmy Ya” played over scenes from The Muppets.

The original video, which features the leader of The Muppets’ house band, Dr. Teeth & The Electric Mayhem lined up with Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s lyrics, was made private on Youtube. Luckily for us, however, Youtuber Hostage re-uploaded the video in 2018 for our viewing pleasure (with credit to the original creator, of course).

The isthishowyougoviral channel features several other popular mashups between cartoons and hip-hop music, including Kendrick Lamar’s “Swimming Pools (Drank)” with Rick and Morty and the Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage” with Sesame Street, and more. If you’re a hip-hop fan, it’s definitely worth checking out.

It goes without saying that Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s “Shimmy Shimmy Ya” mash-up with the muppets is not an official Wu-Tang or Muppets video, but I’m sure the dirt dog himself would have approved of this video. It’s one of Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s best songs, and it pairs surprisingly well with Dr. Teeth.
