I guess I should start with one of my all-time favorites, “Mission in the Rain” from Keane College 2/28/80

That one’s an all-timer. Gotta be this Mississippi Half-Step for me. Has a little more pep in its step coming out of EotW

Do you mean when he says he can’t hear his guitar? I think he’s talking to the sound guy about the monitor on the stage

There are a lot of places to talk about the Dead on the internet, but this one is ours.

How about a 20 minute Sugaree this morning?

“Sitting In Limbo” 9/1/74 – saxophone by Martin Fierro. Smooth like butter and before Jerry got into heroin

No matter how much music is out there, that I enjoy. I keep coming back to Jerry. There is something so warm and inviting about his voice and the choices he makes on the guitar. It’s peaceful, inspiring, and psychedelic all together.

I’ve noticed that everything I’ve shared in here so far has been JGB. I guess that’s been my vibe lately. I’ve got nothing to say about Valentine’s Day at this point in my life but I do feel the love on this recording…

This is the best Jerry Garcia Band show that I am aware of.

This is on my top top top tier lists of greatest JGB live shows. Honestly, it may be the Barton Hall of JGB shows. If you haven’t listened to this show.. TAP IN!! That’s an inside joke, lol. But seriously..The keys are so dope.

“Jack Straw” 10/20/84 – absolutely rips. I listened to this whole show and Bobby seems pretty pissed off. The “take a step back” is rather aggressive. This is the set one closer. Really gets going. I love 80s dead for shit like this

Side note: reading archive.org comments on Dead shows is one of my favorite pastimes
