    The Artisanals – “Violet Light”
    Published: June 21, 2019

Yesterday, The Artisanals premiered the music video for their new track “Violet Light” via Consequence of Sound. As of this morning, the song has made its way onto streaming platforms for your listening pleasure. According to the CoS article, this song spawned partially out of *surprise* Johnny Delaware taking a “hero’s dose of mushrooms” and realizing that no matter what he was going through at any given time, it’s important to leave room for faith.

“Violet Light” is one of the better songs that The Artisanals have come up with to date, which is saying something considering how well their debut album has been received since its release last year, with praise from both the Charleston music scene and national media outlets like Rolling Stone, Relix, Billboard, and Paste. The Artisanals have earned themselves some serious recognition in the world of alt-country and americana, and if “Violet Light” is any indication of what their next record will sound like, I’d say they’re lined up to have an even more successful 2019 into 2020.

The Artisanals made a brief stop in Charleston last weekend to play a hometown show at The Royal American with Babe Club, and now they’re back to living on the road again with a busy summer tour that will take them all over the country. Listen to “Violet Light” below, and see a full list of their summer tour dates below that.
