SUSTO – “Weather Balloons” (feat. Frances Cone)

SUSTO has released an alternate version “Weather Balloons” off their 2019 album Ever Since I Lost My Mind. The newly-released version of the track features Frances Cone, who joined SUSTO for the early part of their Ever Since I Lost My Mind tour. They’ve dedicated the release of this single to Andrew ‘Toucan’ Gardner, a beloved member of Charleston’s music and arts community who passed away earlier this week. RIP to Toucan Drew.
The difference you’ll notice right off the bat with this version of “Weather Balloons” is that it’s more subdued. The most important difference, though, is the addition of Christina Cone’s vocals. According to a recent email from SUSTO, this version of the song is closer to the one that formed over the course of the band’s tour with Frances Cone, in which Christina offered vocal support during a good portion of the set. Her voice is a nice touch here.
