Earlier this week, Greenville rapper Shyland Flowers released a pretty dope new tune called “85”, featuring Serene Burgess. Equipped with a jazzy, old school beat accented by saxophone, Shyland brings verses that present a manifesto for life and how you’ve got to keep on moving and making changes to survive, while also remembering the good stuff that helped you get there. Shyland hits the beat with a calm cadence and delivers verses with a Southern flavor blend that is made ever sweeter by Serene’s harmonizing and verse contribution.
Shyland Flowers is co-founder of the Greenville hip-hop collective True King Music Group, who released a full-length collection titled Land of the Kings earlier this year. Learn more about that here.
