See Water Puts a Twist on the Game of Thrones Theme Song

Now I’ll admit something here that I might get yelled at for: I’m not on the Game of Thrones hype train. I’ve seen one or two episodes but that’s about it. That being said, this video of See Water doing the theme song is pretty sick. Granted, this was the first time I’ve ever heard the Game of Thrones theme song, but if the show picked up See Water’s version to use in the intro they’d have a new viewer in me. HBO, if you’re reading this, you know what to do.

Speaking of being picked up, this video is the first to result from a new partnership between B-Side Sessions and the Post & Courier’s music section called Charleston Scene. Scene got a new writer recently, and she’s doing a mighty fine job covering the happenings in the Charleston music scene. Congrats to both Kalyn Oyer of Charleston Scene and Taylor Hickman of B-Side Sessions on their respective successes, and of course congrats to See Water on the upcoming partnership with HBO.

See Water is calling their twist on the theme song “Spoiler Alert: Everyone Dies”, and have been throwing it in the mix at their recent shows. They’ve got a big one coming up this Wednesday night at the Music Farm to kick off the Charleston Music Confab. They’ll be joined by Abstract that Rapper, Carolina Wray, Tyler Boone, and Tigerdog.
