Columbia-based indie pop-rock group Rex Darling dropped a new single, “High Fashion Crazy,” this week. It’s the first official single from their upcoming debut album, a highly anticipated milestone for the band.
“High Fashion Crazy” is percussion-driven track with a steady drum beat that rolls throughout the song. A folksy guitar riff jangles along, and singer Catherine Hunsinger’s voice is wispy yet rich, lending the track a sort of mystical quality. “You can call me crazy / like a fashion baby / honey if you wear it right,” she sings. “You’ll be paying / to see my crazy every night” is another standout line.
Rex Darling rocked Royal American at Extra Chill’s Leap Year Jamboree with Nordista Freeze and Easy Honey in February 2020 before the world shut down, and we’re hoping to see the band back on a Charleston stage before too long.
Stream “High Fashion Crazy” by Rex Darling below, and catch them opening for acclaimed performer Marc Rebillet at The Senate in Columbia on Wednesday, October 13th. Tickets here.
