Orange Doors – “Splash” (Video)

Charleston-based experimental psych-rock band Orange Doors have recently announced their new album Slaphappy, due out on October 10th via Custom Made Music. Orange Doors has always been a little bit too far out for me to really “get”, and I’ve always felt that they try a bit too hard to be weird and lose sight of the goal, which is making music that actually sounds good. They’re already the only band in Charleston with a tuba, which is interesting enough in itself. Now let’s hear something catchy.
Anyway, I’m not trying to hate on Orange Doors. They just got a record deal and this glitched-out music video already has over 1000 views, so somebody out there must see the appeal in this stuff. Maybe that special somebody is you.
