The elusive Scene SC made another appearance yesterday to drop a new Papa Jazz Session; the first since Youngster’s session was released last summer. The newest addition to the series features Kid Trails doing a full band (pre-quarantine) session inside the little Columbia, SC record shop. Here Kid Trails performs their 2019 single “Friendships Fade”.
This is actually the second time that Kid Trails has linked up with Scene SC at Papa Jazz. There was another session released back in September 2015, where they played “The Side” off 2016’s Kid Trails Rising.
Although the Scene SC website has been mostly inactive this year, founder David Stringer has been working behind the “scenes” to plan the next direction for the stalwart South Carolina music brand. In the meantime, he’s also been working with Free Times to curate a series of live sessions featuring Columbia artists during the quarantine, called 1 or 2 Sessions. They’re similar to what the Post & Courier is doing with their No Intermission series.
