Kid Lake – “Wtf”

Kid Lake is the low-key solo project of Cry Baby guitarist Carter Long. After releasing the debut single “I’ve Been Cooling” almost a whole year ago, today he releases the heart-wrenching breakup song “Wtf”. It’s a lo-fi tune about confusion and uncertainty in a relationship, and longing to get back to that feeling of home that you might have felt with them. It’s got plenty of emotion and a healthy dose of weird experimentation with violin and crashing symbols that add an additional emotional backdrop to the song. It reminds me of Neutral Milk Hotel, in a way.
