In February 2017, Jyve made its initial launch here in Charleston as an app for helping local bars and music venues book musicians. Now, Jyve is expanding its base with the brand new Jyve: Find Local Music fan app. The new app will help local music advocates find live music in Charleston on a given night.
Jyve: Find Local Music allows users to follow bands and venues, and gives details about each show including music samples from each artist playing. The app also has capabilities to alert users of shows happening around town, helping Charleston’s concertgoing community stay in the loop and plan their nights out.
Jyve was started by College of Charleston graduate Brandon Brooks, who also plays drums with several groups around town, including the insanely talented Terraphonics. We spoke with Brandon a while back about his vision for the future of Jyve. In case you missed it, check out our interview here.
Today, Jyve has over 2000 musicians signed up, with around 40 venues actively using the app to book gigs in Charleston. Those numbers are steadily growing by the day, and I can only imagine that the new fan app will help boost engagement all-around.
As of now, both the Jyve booking app and the Jyve: Find Local Music app are only available in Charleston.
