Johnny Delaware of The Artisanals has recently released the music video for his newest single, “A.I”. The song itself was formerly in the repertoire of The Artisanals, and I believe was initially planned to be included on their debut album, but it never saw an Artisanal release and has apparently been repurposed for Johnny Delaware’s solo career.
The “A.I” video looks a lot like acid, and the song sounds a lot like acid, too. The video was filmed in New Mexico last December, and features nature shots of desert scapes, with Johnny dressed in a purple suit, either barefoot of with some red leather shoes outfitted with a stitched-on swirl. It was shot by Harvey Hale, with editing/coloring by Corey Campbell of Babe Club, and additional editing by Jenna Desmond, also of Babe Club.
“The chorus postulates what it means to be human, saying ‘you were made to feel, to feel so real.’,” Johnny explains on Instagram. “Because we aren’t alive to hold back our expression or feel scared of one another — We are here to learn, to go inside and feel the connection of ourselves, and share it.”
