This morning, Jah Jr. dropped a new single, “Vitamin Sea”, which features vocals from Rysice (formerly known as Poppy Native). With this one, Jah shows off his wordplay, spitting verses interwoven with images of water and the ocean. Rysice’s vocals add a nice, chill element and help curate the aquatic vibe that they’ve captured here.
“Vitamin Sea” is strong all the way through, with solid production from NYC-based Austin Marc and both artists stepping up to showcase their talents. It’s been great to see Jah Jr. continue to develop his flow since the 2018 release of Back 2 Tha Dub, and at this point he’s become one of our favorite rappers in Charleston. Rysice has been fairly quiet since her appearance at Benny Starr’s live recording of A Water Album last year, but hopefully this collab with Jah means that she’s going to be releasing more music in the near future.
Listen to “Vitamin Sea” by Jah Jr. and Rysice below, and stay tuned for some exciting announcements regarding Extra Chill and Jah Jr. over the course of the next few months.
