Last week, rapper Ivory Keys shared a laid-back new track called “Independent”, along with a music video shot and directed by Britton Rauscher. It’s the first release from Ivory Keys of the year, following the EP Ain’t Much To Do released in December.
“Independent” is a slow vibe, with bars about being different and finding your own way in the world. The video features footage of Keys and Arianna Smoak exploring nature, with Keys also finding himself rapping from a rooftop.
We also see a fisherman enjoying his afternoon beside the river, not far from a posted “No Fishing” sign. Ain’t nobody bothering him out there, though. Some might say he’s “Independent”.
Ivory Keys has performed several shows in Charleston this summer, with the most recent being at the Royal American on July 9th. On Instagram he says we can expect to hear more new music in less than 30 days.
