Instrumental duo Hot Mustard released a new track, “Butcher Block,” on Friday. The song is the latest single from their upcoming album, Seconds, which is set to drop on March 31st.
“Butcher Block” is both tender and bold, beginning with a gentle guitar riff, then slowly revealing vibrant percussion and buoyant brass. The soundscape builds into a dynamic tapestry of funk and jazz, with Ross Bogan on the organ, and frequent collaborators Jordan Mclean (Antiblas) and Dave “Smoota” Smith (TV on the Radio) on the trumpet and trombone, respectively.
