Georgia VanNewkirk released a 6-song EP, Million Dollar Trailer Park, on Friday. The project features “Let the Light In” and “Picture You in Paris,” which were released as singles earlier this year.
Million Dollar Trailer Park shows VanNewkirk experimenting with a kind of ethereal pop that calls to mind Lana Del Rey in its willingness to be both dark and unabashedly feminine.
“Slipping Through Your Fingers,” the first song, is a decidedly glittery pop track, and VanNewkirk’s vocals are smooth.
The title track, “Million Dollar Trailer Park,” contains standout lyrics like “Started dressing in black just like you / Even wanted a shitty tattoo.”
The EP takes a turn toward a more guitar-focused, earnest sound with nostalgic love song “Cotton Candy Grapes.”
“LA is Burning,” the final track, grooves with a steady beat as VanNewkirk sings “Love you till the end of time.”
Each song displays a different angle of VanNewkirk’s creativity, and the EP is a satisfying listen from start to finish. Stream Million Dollar Trailer Park below.
