Gardeners – “Up a Mountain”

Rock Hill’s Gardeners have just re-released “Up a Mountain”, the single that originally appeared on the 2019 Scene SC Sampler. According to Gardeners’ post on Instagram announcing the re-release, the version that appeared on the Scene SC Sampler was a bit of a rough cut that they had sort of rushed to get done in time for the sampler’s release. This version of “Up A Mountain” is remixed and remastered, and it sounds fantastic if I do say so myself.

Gardeners have been one of my personal favorite bands in South Carolina ever since the first time I heard their debut album, Along The Heather back in August of 2018. The newly-released version of “Up A Mountain” not only sounds better than the one on the Scene SC Sampler, but it also sounds better, production-wise, than anything they’ve released to date.

While it’s great to hear this new-and-improved cut of “Up a Mountain”, it’s even better to know that Gardeners will perform in Charleston next month for night two of Extra Chill Fest 2019, just before Saturday night headliner Keon Masters.
