Foxing – Rory (Live 2015)
In my opinion, Foxing is one of the best new bands out there right now. They have a sound that contains echoes from the golden days of emo music back in the early 2000s, but still sounds fresh. For example, Conor Murphy is messing around with a synth pad and playing the trumpet on this song, which is something that was unheard of in emo music of the early 2000s. If you’re a fan of hard, alternative rock with an emo twist, Foxing is a band that you definitely need to check out. Personally, I prefer their debut album The Albatross over their second album Dealer, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t like Dealer. I just haven’t listened to it as much, and thus it hasn’t fully grown on me yet. In fact, I’m gonna go play that album right now.
This video is of Foxing playing my favorite song of theirs, “Rory”, live at The Fest 14 last year in Gainesville, Florida. This was the song that they closed with when I saw them at Shaky Knees, and it was super awesome. This video is shot from a high angle so you can see both the band rocking out and the crowd going wild and singing along. Not to mention that the audio is great quality. Foxing kicks ass. Enjoy.
