“Know Me, Know Me,” the newest track from Fo Daniels, dropped Saturday. It follows his single “Angel In The Streetlights” and was also recorded at Big Bad Sound Studios in Los Angeles.
The song begins with an acoustic guitar, the gentle patter of a cymbal, and Daniels’s voice, powerful, yet searching. According to him, “Know Me, Know Me” is about falling in love, “for the first time, specifically,” and that kind of earnest hope permeates the track.
Layered echoes add volume in the chorus as Daniels sings about falling slowly, repeating “Know me / Know me / Hope you know me.” More instruments, like the organ and violin, are threaded throughout the track, creating a robust soundscape and amplifying the sense of emotion.
“Know Me, Know Me” shows Daniels’ ability to meld his singer-songwriter stylings with bigger band sound, adding intensity while maintaining an air of rough-and-tumble authenticity. Stream the track below.
