Evan Berke Releases Debut Comedy Album, Twice Removed
    Published: June 20, 2023

College of Charleston graduate and rising comedian Evan Berke has just unveiled his debut stand-up comedy album and special, Twice Removed. Released on Friday, June 16 (the at #1 on the iTunes Comedy charts), the special was recorded in February at Nashville’s Third Coast Comedy Club, and features 54 minutes of comedic material centered around growing up Jewish in the South.

The material was recorded across two sold-out shows on February 9, and covers memories taken directly from Berke’s life. This includes his misadventures en route to the BET Hip-Hop Awards, his thoughts on the possibility of becoming a father, and a core memory of the near-death experience at 17 that almost took his left hand, and also managed to start his comedy career.

Berke is the former resident Comedy Director of the now-defunct Jailbreak Music & Arts Festival, which took place at the Old City Jail in downtown Charleston from 2011-2016.

After leaving Charleston he became host of the NYC chapter of Pechakucha, a global lecture series originated by architects in Japan. He was an On-Air Correspondent at TMZ in Los Angeles from 2017-2019. Last year, he hosted the Transform Awards, in New York, which recognizes innovative best practices in brand development work.

Berke currently resides in Nashville where he continues to hone his stand-up comedy skills as well as pursuits in hosting, programming, and broadcast journalism.
