Charleston’s very own New Wave Dance Rock band, Human Resources, recently released their debut album on local label Coast Records. En Route sounds like Daft Punk and The Strokes got together and made beautiful children. It’s upbeat and chill at the same time, so you can throw it on for a low-key kickback then invite some people over and crank up the volume to get things going. The album is streaming above, and you can purchase it from their bandcamp if you feel inclined to do so. Either way, give it a listen because it’s pretty damn good.
Human Resources consists of Dries Vandenberg, Aaron Utterback, Paul Chelmis, Matt Zutell, and Marie Holder. They all live in Charleston and play shows in the area on a regular basis. Their website and Facebook info is listed below. I also want to point out how fresh their website looks and give props to Paul Chelmis for building it. Human Resources is on the come-up!
