Yesterday, Doom Flamingo premiered a cover of Chris Issac’s 1989 classic and often-covered “Wicked Game” with Relix. Doom Flamingo’s version of this song fits their style so well, with wild, funky synth running throughout and Kanika Moore holding it down on vocals as always.
2019 has been a huge year for the Charleston synthwave project, which was started in 2018 by Umphrey’s McGee bassist Ryan Stasik. They’ve quickly become a favorite in the jam scene, hitting festival spots at Electric Forest, Hulaween, Into The Woods, Woodlands Festival, and several official Umphrey’s McGee afterparties, and they don’t show signs of slowing down in 2020.
Doom Flamingo will perform at the Charleston Pour House on Sunday, December 8th for the Pour House’s official Phish Afterparty, and they’ve got a handful of dates lined up to kick off 2020.
