Doom Flamingo released their very first live album, In The Rain, on Friday, October 7th. Performances on the album were pulled from their recent summer tour that according to the band, had many special moments but also many encounters with Mother Nature.
Prior to the album release the band shared a pro-shot live video of Doom Flamingo performing Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” during their “Queen Is Doomed” set at Summer Camp Music Festival this past summer. Doom nailed this notoriously challenging song and managed to make it their own in an epic way, but nobody is surprised about that.
The new live album In The Rain brings with it a collection of 11 performances including early hits like “F-16” and “Runaway”, more recent material like “Lux Noir”, and covers like “Bohemian Rhapsody” and Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon”. Recordings come from their sets at venues like Peach Music Festival, Summer Camp Music Festival, 5 Points Music Sanctuary, Whitewater Center, and of course the Charleston Pour House.
Doom Flamingo have a few shows lined up for this fall and winter including a hometown show in Charleston for Boogieman Halloween Festival, taking place October 30th at The Royal American. See their full list of upcoming tour dates here.
