Cry Baby – “She Likes To Get High”

Cry Baby kicked off 2021 right with the release of a groovy new single called “She Likes To Get High”. They keep on putting out these awesome party tunes, and every single one borrows elements from pop music of days past done up in their own way. With “She Likes To Get High” I’m hearing some of the bass groove and tone from Michael Jackson’s classic 1982 album Thriller.
Cry Baby have found a goldmine in the sense that they can borrow these things and make them unique enough that the borrowed element doesn’t seem blatant and forced. It’s more of a subtle connection that reminds you of the old school music that everybody loves and automatically makes you love Cry Baby, too.
