Charlotte’s Time Sawyer to Bring Soulful Folk Rock to the Pour House
    Published: January 27, 2018

This Thursday, February 1st, Time Sawyer out of Charlotte will be spending an evening at The Pour House, bringing with them their brand of laid-back, thoughtful folk rock. The band has stopped through Charleston a few times over the years, but this will be their first time playing The Pour House. They are fresh off a successful year in 2017, and have recently signed on with Midwood Entertainment, which means 2018 is looking to be an even bigger year for them.

Time Sawyer’s successful 2017 was due in part to the release of Wildest Dreams, a full-length album that has put them on the up-and-coming indie-folk radar. Wildest Dreams is relaxing, soulful folk rock that embodies the calm energy of the South, with lyrics about passing time, nature, and travel.

If you’ve ever found yourself wrapped up in a Mark Twain novel, you’ll probably vibe with Time Sawyer. The rural themes that Mark Twain is famous for struck a chord with Time Sawyer members Sam Tayloe and Houston Norris, and the band name gives a nod to the literary legend Tom Sawyer. The music wraps itself around these rural themes and draws comparisons between past and future, and the force that exists between them.

Tickets to Time Sawyer at the Charleston Pour House are $7 and available here. Stream Wildest Dreams below.
