Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros Kick Off Winter Tour at North Charleston Performing Arts Center (Preview)
    Published: January 25, 2023

Next week, Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros kick off their winter 2023 tour dates right here in Charleston, with a show at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center on Thursday, February 2.

The founding member of the Grateful Dead will be joined by a stellar group of musicians that includes Don Was, Jay Lane and Jeff Chimenti.

They will also be joined by a string and brass quartet known as The Wolfpack, which consists of Alex Kelly, Brian Switzer, Adam Theis, Mads Tolling and Sheldon Brown, along with Barry Sless on pedal steel.

Performing songs from the Grateful Dead catalogue, Bobby’s solo projects, and more, you can expect a laid-back evening of exploratory musicianship that might just blast off into the cosmos.

The tour comes in advance of the Weir’s final tour with Dead & Company, who will hang it up after their 2023 summer tour beginning May 19 in Los Angeles.

Tickets to the Charleston show and the entire Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros winter tour are available via bobweir.net.

For the Atlanta dates on February 17-19, Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros will be joined by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for a very special three-night run at the Atlanta Symphony Hall. These shows follow a sold-out four-night run with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in DC, which was thoroughly enjoyed by both the band and its fans.

In addition to these exciting shows, the band has a new live album out called Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros: Live in Colorado Vol. 2. The album was recorded live at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on June 8 and 9, 2021, and at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheatre in Vail, Colorado on June 11 and 12, 2021.

Stream the new live album below, featuring extended jams on favorites like “Eyes of the World” (with a medley into “What’s Going On”) and “Terrapin Station”. Plus, performances of the beautifully-written “Brokedown Palace” and “Ripple”.

In a recent (November 2022) interview with CBS Sunday Morning, where Bobby discusses his passion for music and where that has led him in life. This includes talk about Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead, the recent Kennedy Center run with the NSO, and more. See that below.
