Black Dave – ‘EP 000001’

Charleston creative Black Dave is well-known for a number of things, including founding the promotional brand-turned graphic design brand, Charleston Hype. He’s also known for his production and DJ work with artists like Benny Starr and Matt Monday. Dave is also a photographer, and he has contributed to the Charleston City Paper, and he’s even written a few album reviews for Extra Chill. He’s been heavily involved in the Charleston hip-hop scene for years, but it’s been a while since he released any of his own rap songs.

Today, Black Dave released three songs as part of an EP titled EP 000001. The title is such because, as Dave posted Instagram the other day, he has challenged himself to release an EP on the last day of every month. EP 000001 is the first of those EPs. He wrote, recorded, mixed, and mastered all three songs himself, and even designed the cover art.
