Babe Club – “Road to Nowhere” (Talking Heads Cover)

Babe Club have just shared a cover of “Road to Nowhere” by the Talking Heads on their Bandcamp. The release of the cover comes along with the official announcement of their new single “Together”, which will drop on June 2nd. Babe Club’s debut EP, Remember This Feeling, will be released in the fall.

“Road to Nowhere” comes from the Talking Heads album Little Creatures, and is appropriately a song about the casual acceptance of impending doom. Where the original explores this idea through the use of unconventional dance music, Babe Club makes it their own and turns it into a reflective indie pop song, that yes, you can still dance to. This is also the most experimental production I’ve ever heard from them, which makes sense because it’s a Talking Heads cover.

In addition to the EP that will finally be released this fall, Babe Club have been writing and collaborating with Nicky Holland (Tears For Fears / Tina Turner), and in the pre-COVID world had plans to tour this summer with Grouplove, Illiterate Light, and Ona.
