Andy Frasco and friends took over the Charleston Pour house Friday and Saturday night with a multitude of guests, ranging from T.K. and Kanika Moore from Doom Flamingo, the Boys from Little Stranger, Andy Greenberg of Runaway Gin,  and many more.

Dogs in a pile are a unique jam band with a great sound and a solid show. Their competent musicianship makes them a good fit as opener for the likes of Andy Frasco.

Along with my usual stint as photog’ I tried my hand at recording a little bit of video Sat’ night as well. I found out I have a lot to learn, but I hope you’ll enjoy the clips anyway. I’m thrilled to have something new to learn! Let me know your thoughts… would love to get some feedback and or constructive criticism. Otherwise, hope you enjoy the content !!

Dude hell yeah! The videos are insane and the photos look great. What a freaking awesome party!

The recording quality is really good and you captured John Shield’s birthday celebration, tripping his balls off lol.

I love the video style of being literally right there in the party. So so sick!

I agree, the videos are great. Thank you for sharing!

Did you show this to the bands / the Pour House?

The video quality is insanely good and the audio is totally passable, especially given the handheld camera style. It’s like listening to an audience tape recording which a lot of people like, and with video it gives the feel of being right there with a front row view.

If you ever wanted to, you could try to sync a video up with a mix from the soundboard but it might take away from the in-the-moment aspect.

I hadn’t thought about a mix from the soundboard but I might hit up the sound guy at PoHo… that’s a great idea. Syncing the video and the sound “should” be fairly easy. I’ve done this before on a different type of project.

I DID buy a high end mic that attaches to my camera! The camera itself has pretty good audio capability in regard to the format/bit-rate -and while the stero mics are impressive for something built in, having an external pro-level mic is obviously preferred. It’s sitting in my camera bag… will break it out for the next show I shoot!

People at the PoHo have the link to my website – I have to assume they’re aware of the videos. 🙂

I sent along links to Kev’, John, Frasco, etc… I “think” they’ve seen the video but I can’t be sure.

@steveaycockphoto hell yeah man! The PoHo def saw it because they re-shared my post about it on Instagram today.

i didn’t realize this was done with just the in-camera audio. Attaching a mic is probably going to change the game in that case

Yeah, I expect so. Hoping to get my Son to let me do a recording of him doing one of his originals soon – that might be my first try with the nicer microphone.

My website is getting some attention after this show – not blowing up exactly, but more traffic than usual by a margin. My semi-accurate estimate is about 30-40 viewers a day since Sat. Each person is actually looking at almost all of the photos tho’… most of the time people only scan the gallery kinda quick and only actually open a few photos, so that is in a way a pretty big difference.

Was a fuckin’ excellent show. Gonna be hard to top that experience anytime soon.

@steveaycockphoto hell yeah man. Frasco is known to always be a party, and the photos capture that. Two sold out nights, wish I could have made it out. Good stuff and thanks again for sharing it here!
