Just his honest opinion, which is much more damaging because he’s saying what we are thinking. IMO Drake has been a bit of a culture vulture and has shapeshifted from ‘pretty boy’ to ‘certified gangsta’. For Kendrick to have his actual CERTIFIED background and affiliations, it means alot for him to pull that card-amongst the several others he dropped throughout the diss track. It takes a certain level of UMPH to name drop and speak on things highly specific to a single person. He exposed the things that we see and ignore because he is ‘Drake’.
HOWEVER, it sucks that this whole ‘legendary (imaginary) beefs’ thing is spreading into country music, afrobeats, etc. Even Kim K and Taylor swift are beefing. Though I love that Kendrick is proving that its ACTUALLY ‘just big Me’- I hate the domino effect coming with it.

When we consider that Noah Kahan was made famous primarily through TikTok (owned by a Chinese company), the potential for a conspiracy theory arises. It is plausible to think that the Chinese would push certain types of music with their algorithm.
If Noah Kahan is out there with a negative message, and he appeals to the most impressionable demographic of Americans, perhaps the opportunity arose to tweak the algorithms to favor the rise of this artist. So that he would become mega-famous and spread this kind of hateful message upon the American youth.

Kahan is a Jewish name. Lolz. People of tik tok made him famous because he’s a got a wilderness-y folk-y vibe and a man bun. The people love a left leaning nature loving guy from Vermont. Stick season has a catchy basic melody that people with little unique interests can get into.
I talk about the lack of local representation, cultural representation, Liquid Death at $6 per can, and the 25% merch cut that the festival took from artists.

Brett played the first ever show at The Royal American. I have a video of Brett naming all the bands he’s been in and it was like 2 minutes long. Also just the most humble, friendliest guy. Love you Brett.
There’s a Wilco song called “Less Than You Think” that is 15 minutes long. But it’s really a 2 minute song followed by 15 minutes straight of distorted white noise. Not a true “hidden track” but similar. Released in 2004.
Sometimes, Wilco can make “distorted white noise” sound good. But here, they don’t even try. It’s not pleasant at all and it’s not supposed to be.
I was thinking about the CD age of the 90’s and remembered the trend of hiding “secret tracks” at the end of albums – sometimes 10 minutes after the end of the previous song. What a cool surprise it would be to find a hidden track at the end of “Dookie” by Green Day or “Bitches Ain’t Shit” at the end of Dr Dre’s “The Chronic”.. If anyone else remembers this, please chime in with your favorite hidden tracks. I’ll link a few articles I found that go into a little more...

Was a fuckin’ excellent show. Gonna be hard to top that experience anytime soon.
