in reply to: Charleston, SC Live MusicMasta Killa – Wu Tang affiliate – just put on a classic hip-hop performance at The Charleston Pourhouse. Great crowd work and classic bars from the OG were washed out by the tidal wave of local talent – which completely stole the show. Slim SOUL, OLEG, NOAH JONES, MOONKAT DADDY, MIKE BROWN, INDI GXLD, NU, and every other local musician that played tonight showed New York what we are all about down here.. and im pretty sure they’re SHOOK.. if not, they’re in denial.

in reply to: New Music 2025Hi!
New Music: https://sarahsummer.bandcamp.com/track/tremolo-4Just released it today. The song is called Tremolo. I’m Sarah Summer, a South Carolinian musician that’s relocated to Arizona. I’ve made a batch of songs with Ryan “Wolfgang” Zimmerman and Christian Chidester at The Space in Charleston. Getting around to sharing those now. Hope you’ll tune in. More to come…

in forum: The Back BarSat down with Andrew at Radio Coffee in Austin last week to talk about the history of Extra Chill for his blog Quality Americana, based in Austin but covering songwriters everywhere. We had a great chat about music and the scene and the state of online publishing. Andrew was super cool and I was glad to do this!
Thanks to Andrew for publishing this story!

Andrew said he spends his time listening to unknown artists on Bandcamp to come up with content ideas for his website. A true grassroots publication focused on actively supporting independent artists.
Highly recommend checking him out and follow Quality Americana on Instagram!

byu/sowingseason_YEAH inbrandnewin reply to: New Music 2025Sand in my Vape by Sandy Dandy was released yesterday onto streaming etc
you may know Dan from daddy’s Beemer or captaining a sailboat on the Ravenel. This tune is a mix of Jimmy Buffett, MJ lenderman, and Stacey’s Mom. An absolute hit.
As a friend of Dan I have the back story of this song being in the vault for like 5 years. I’m glad it’s finally out in the world.

a lot of the bands i saw were people was already familiar with this time around, honestly.
Saw Susto string band 3 times, She Returns From War 3 times.
