Masta Killa – Wu Tang affiliate – just put on a classic hip-hop performance at The Charleston Pourhouse. Great crowd work and classic bars from the OG were washed out by the tidal wave of local talent – which completely stole the show. Slim SOUL, OLEG, NOAH JONES, MOONKAT DADDY, MIKE BROWN, INDI GXLD, NU, and every other local musician that played tonight showed New York what we are all about down here.. and im pretty sure they’re SHOOK.. if not, they’re in denial.
in reply to: SXSW 2025I love getting caught off guard by a band.. Cleophus James from Richmond was the most recent band to do that to me

in reply to: PhishAnyone else see Trey tonight at The Gaillard? Absolutely incredible performance start to finish. All time legendary set list. Seated show in a world class orchestral theater … Won’t ever forget that. Nitros balloons in the front lawn of the Gaillard was just too funny not to partake 😭

These back-to-back shows at The Royal American served as Andrei’s last shows with the band and what we thought were the last shows Secret Guest would ever play.
Pip The Pansy & 2 Slices
Also at The Royal American. This was the first show I ever saw Pip live, and I think 2 Slices is the ultimate band pairing with Pip. I remember just being completely blown away.
Pocket Full Of Shells & UnHeard Ent – Rage Against The Machine/Wu-Tang Clan ’97 tour tribute show at The Music Farm. Not only did Chubes and I come up with the idea for the show, we packed the place out and I got to watch all my buddies play this huge stage and it was just really memorable.
Susto Rogue Acoustic Live Recording at The Royal American
Whenever you get to see Susto it’s a great and memorable show. Seeing a show that’s recorded live and available to relive at any moment is just awesome. Great songs and great guests on this album.
Charleston Music Hall Vinyl Post COVID Show
This amazing show not only benefited one of my favorite venues it featured live performances from a wide range of Charleston musicians including Marcus Amaker, Little Stranger, Mel Washington, Babe Club, etc.
Palm Palm at The Royal American
J Roddy Walston’s balls to the wall rock outfit performed possibly their first live show at Royal and it was bonkers.
Too many more shows to remember.

This is a song I’ve lived for a while now. The T.S.U. TORONADOES are most well known for being the backing band for the classic Archie Bell & The Drells famous song “Tighten Up”. The “T.S.U.” in the name stands for Texas State University, where I believe the band originated. Another important distinction to make is that it’s “Toronado” (Oldsmobile Car that was popular at the time, and not “Tornado” (the tropical storm that fucks up our paychecks every fall in the south.

Starting it off with a favorite singer of mine from Chicago. He came up through Curtis Mayfield’s record label as a session player, producer, and song writer. I linked the Wikipedia below for anyone interested. This song is on a great live album he released which is comprised of live recordings from 2 concerts in 1972 (LA+NY)
Pretty freaking awesome considering he plays in The Rolling Stones.. He also played the first show I ever saw in Charleston back on 2002 at The Music Farm w. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band!
in reply to: Hurricane Debby PartyI am at possibly the biggest flood zone on the east side downtown.. will post updates as the storm continues.
I would like the record to reflect that Tropical Storm Chris was merciful and should be
