I’m sharing bugs publicly because it’s a reminder for myself but it also keeps track of the history of this website which I think is cool.

A couple of them today that have been giving me grief:

    – Links to other WordPress websites showing up as embeds in recent, following, and upvoted feeds, causing a blank space. I fixed this in the main loop but it still persists in my custom feeds.

    – Trying to add a visual aid under Quoted content in the post editor so that users don’t accidentally mess up their own formatting

    – Working on moderation filters so that people can post links without having to be manually flagged for review

    – Stopping Russian Spam Bots – which have already started to create a few accounts per day.

Will check them off as I go.

I think so? The time stamp was off (one of them should read 11:15) but I did get 2:

Also I tried dropping an image of this from my desktop but couldn’t. Uploading pics might need to become a necessity unless my morning brain just isn’t able to figure it out rn

I actually have this really crazy idea…

Which is making a plugin that automatically uploads images to Imgur and then brings them back here to post. Giving the illusion of uploading without actually taking up space on my server.

    It’s in the think tank.

Oh that’s because I edited the comment, so it sent a second one.

Uploading pics is a maybe feature… I don’t want to fill up my whole server so fast…

I’m also going to High Water, and am interested on seeing what Noah Kahan brings to a live show. For his fame though, I guess ultimately it will depend what happens when he releases his next album. He’s got one viral hit album and he blew up. It’s going to be hard to sustain that if he can’t blow everybody’s mind with the next album.

As a 30 year old boomer who’s never been on TikTok I can’t really speak to that aspect of it, but I do respect the hustle. He was able to game the algorithm and it made him mega famous and if he doesn’t blow his money he’ll never have to work another day in his life. And he’s only 27 right now. We’ll see how it unfolds.

Taylor Swift has been around forever, she has snowballed over time to her current status as the most famous American artist in the world. Her fame is something that will be studied in the future. It’s insane how famous she is really. I’m not a Taylor Swift hater at all. It’s still just bullshit that she won everything because it’s so clearly all about trying to cash in on the T Swift mega fame gravy train.

    Whole first album to start

Then the hits from all the other albums.

Not in order but – “Hard Drugs” “Life Is Suffering” “Hyperbolic Jesus” “Cosmic Cowboy” (with off duty cops in the building, lol) “Jah Werx” “Far Out Feeling” “My Entire Life” “Get Down” and i think “Homeboy” … then a closer of “Chillin on the Beach” which i did not stay for … might be leaving out one or two, i didn’t write it down

I was there! So crowded. Cool setlist.

It was cool to hear “Manual Transmission” and “House of the Blue Green Buddha”. Songs from Ever Since I Lost My Mind that I love and they don’t play much. I think I preferred the late night pop up set after the Refinery Show though overall (Labor Day Weekend 2023). It felt more like a “you had to be there” type of show rather than an official celebration.

Either way, seeing Justin sing is always a treat and I’ll never pass up a chance to see Susto.

people are at least saying something about Taylor Swift winning album of the year for her most mediocre album to date.

In terms of Highwater- Courtney Barnett clears in every category from songwriting to guitar skills to vocals. The Flaming Lips also snubbed. That is like one of the few bands that can go on 40+ years and still feel like they’re true to what made them cool in the first place. Wayne Coyne ages like a fine wine.

Back to original topic- I think this article sums things up pretty quickly with it’s title.
(Link doesn’t show up- six attempts to find noah kahan interesting)

I liked last year’s High Water lineup so much more. I thought they were on the up and up with Beck and Wilco but they doubled down on the suck this year. The worst part is that it sold out in .2 seconds so it’s just going to be worse next year.

I was so surprised to see that Pitchfork named T Swift album of the year. If that doesn’t tell you that P Fork sold out, I don’t know what does. As if Taylor needed any more publicity.

However, her rabid fans are all over it and Pitchfork is driven by money-hungry corporate investors.

The longer I hang around the music industry, the more I realize how much it sucks.
