Outlaw Country Classics

There’s something about outlaw country that hits just right. I’m a big fan of music that sounds like it was written by a dirty traveler with a busted guitar and a jug of whiskey. I think a lot of other people are too, hence why this genre has made a resurgence in recent years.
“The Road Goes on Forever” by the Highwaymen (but written by Robert Earl Keen) is one such song. Hang around a fire and crush some beers to this one and you’ll be right there with these guys. Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson. It’s just a ton of fun.
The Road Goes on Forever and the Party Never Ends
Luckenbach, Texas, baby.
“Mama Tried” by Merle Haggard. Later performed by the Grateful Dead and more.
Another great one, i love the pedal steel in this Charlie Rich song “Rollin’ With the Flow”
Kurt Vile did a great cover of it on his Bottle It In album. That album is also very worth listening too.
