Kanye sued for posting photos of himself he doesn’t own

Here’s the link for anyone interested. The gist is that Kanye posted photos of himself and his wife that someone else took and now they are suing him for 1.5 million dollars.  I’m just curious if any photographer friends or anyone has opinions about this.  To me it seems unfair that people can photograph you without your consent and then sue you / and or profit off said images. Seems like a very sticky legal situation and I’ll be interested to see what the outcome is.

Kanye probably knew that he would get sued for posting the photos and didn’t care.

Also, it sounds like these were paparazzi photos. Why would he even want to post them? How do these photographers “own the rights” to the photos in such a way that they can sue Kanye over it?

All around it’s weird as fuck.
