What’s good everybody. My name is Ben Beam & I’m a Producer / MC / Audio Engineer born & raised down here in Charleston, SC. I’m heavily involved in our local hip-hop scene, between throwing consistent shows under my Charleston Underground brand & producing tracks / projects for locals artists. Wanted to make this post to share a track I just dropped today, featuring local legend DJ DollaMenu. I produced the track & have a verse on it as well, but thanks to DollaMenu’s feature it’s become a song I’m very proud to share with y’all (Available on all streaming platforms)

Last month you sent me that Larry Lovestein album, the Mac Miller jazz project. I can hear the influence on the beat. That saxophone sounds nice.

I can also hear some Mac Miller influence on your verse, specifically on your last lyric: “My hue is saturated, and I’mma hide inside the shade until my casket painted”

DollaMenu of course crushed it as always.

For those who aren’t in the loop on Mac Miller side projects, Larry Lovestein & The Velvet Revival is a 2012 release from Mac Miller that features jazz lounge tracks. Not quite hip-hop, but certainly hip-hop oriented in his vocal styling. Super cool project worth checking out, and I think you’ll also hear the influence on Ben’s production.
