Alice was a Britain’s got talent contestant a few years back and I discovered her going down that rabbit-hole on youtube. Anyone that knows me well, knows I have a weakness for female vocalists, and Alice is as talented, and as powerful as they come. This particular video, I find kind of amazing, in that she doesn’t seem to ‘need’ to put any real effort into what I would otherwise think would require a lot of work. She just kills it effortlessly… walk in the park as they say.

Alice retired from the public eye after releasing only a single album. Most of her work is available online through various sources and of course youtube. Definitely a favorite of mine, and I bet you’ll be impressed too.

Here’s her Britain’s got talent debut that blew things up from the beginning…

Hell yeah! Really soulful voice and laid-back vibe.

    Do you like Susan Tedeschi?

Yeah man, Tedeschi Trucks Band is awesome…. and I like pretty much everything John Prine has ever written. I think he’s probably one of the top ten songwriters of the 20th century. Probably one of the single most covered artists to have ever lived.

Their music is very different but I kind of categorize him with the likes of  Leonard Cohen in regard to having such immense talent.
