Black Music & Entertainment in Charleston (specifically) is where it is because a lot of people have RRRRRIDICULOUS egos, no conflict resolution, indulge in chronic goofball activity, and are in continuous obsession with trophies, ranks, and lists to the point where the music is no longer inspired by the person, but the characters they have created.

There’s a weird and highly divisive energy that looms over the various communities of black entertainers in Charleston. However, I have seen and am currently a part of a community that embraces the concept of unity and communication-so I KNOW it exists.

Charleston developed and molded everything I have created as and through ‘Indi’Gxld’ for going on 9 years. I’m thankful and honored to be in a place where I can build myself and ATTEMPT to build others by bridging gaps.

Maaan I pray peace over ya’ll but I’m pulling up on 10 years here and certain dynamics are starting to make sense. I truly understand why certain cycles that continue over and over again amongst black creatives exist. It’s time for change, we gotta get off front street and just keep elevating the game for Charleston which creates more lanes for ourselves and our PEOPLE. This shit bigger than YOU! ME! US! There’s MILLIONS of people doing what you do! Be one that creates influence, opportunities, and represents the excellence of whatever your creative locomotive is. All that other bullslizen is for the birds man.

    With love,

    Indi
