When DJ Brownie (nee Marc Brownstien, bassist of the Disco Biscuits) visited the Disco Biscuit’s Pod cast – Touchdowns All Day – 3 weeks ago – it was impossible for host Max Dawson to hide his excitement for DJ Brownie’s upcoming show tomorrow night at Silk City in Philadelphia’s NOLIBS neighborhood.

It’s really endearing to see a host of the Disco Biscuits podcast acting like a fanboy and helping to promote this upcoming DJ Brownie show. Apparently and SOMEHOW this is going to be the first headlining Gig for DJ Brownie in Philadelphia. DJ Brownie has personally expressed his belief recently that he is coming into his own as a DJ – learning skills like reading the room, adjusting on the spot, modifying his plan for what the crowd is giving him. Having been used to watch Brownie stand mostly statutory with his bass guitar at the standard Disco Biscuits shows – I was highly impressed when observing his DJ set that he brings dance moves, fluidity, and high energy level as a DJ. He really puts it all out there. His knowledge of EDM, dance music, and party vibes is incontrovertible.

    🕺🏻 🕺🏻 🕺🏻

DJ Brownie also has been working on some new tracks, new beats, has a new management team focused on the DJ side of Brownie’s music – so Brownie can focus on the music and less on the administrative side of his burgeoning DJ reputation.

Also with Brownie will be DJ Greenie (nee Mike Greenfield, drummer of Lotus). Mike is also an expert in beats, polyrhythms, getting bodies moving, and will be bringing a drum set too. As DJ Brownie’s first headlining Gig in Philly – he’s going to be sure to bring the energy to Silk City. It’s gonna be a scenesberry for sure.

Sunday Night 8:00 PM DJ Brownie first headlining gig ever in Philly – hard to believe but true – with DJ Greenie  – on the kit. 20 bucks. It’s definitely party boy approved!

Also DJ Brownie had a really sick premier of a new track. Don’t know the song but I really enjoyed it. The lyrics throughout were “Dance Floor Be Your Stage,” Maybe that’s the name? Don’t know but it’s a good trance / house track for sure
