Continuing with the theme of female singer songwriters, this is Sizzy Rocket, Cali/New York based. Bridging multiple genres, from rap/hip-hop to rock punk, funk… she really doesn’t have any limits. Live peformances range from wild to to somewhat subdued. Her KEXP session is of particular interest, doing solo, songs from her album. Her lyrics are like no one else, and again, I can’t even begin to really explain how broad her work is. I’m going to post here a pop funk song (You let me know how you might describe it) but don’t sell her short in that some of her other work is far deeper and of intellectual interest. This one has a hell of a hook tho… you’ll know it when you hear it.
